…Lisa captivates her audience, and makes you ponder whether the land always has a tale to be told and a voice to be heard… Beaford Arts
I find and tell stories that inspire, provoke curiosity and build stronger connections between people and nature.
I work with the oral storytelling tradition, where traditional and modern stories are remembered, shared and passed on to others. You’ll find me telling stories at events and venues all over the South West and beyond. My repertoire includes storytelling evenings for adults, shows and collaborations, schools and museums work, story walks and workshops.
Storytelling allows me to combine two of my great passions: nature, and creative imagination. I’ve been a storyteller for over 15 years, continually learning and sharing with a diverse storytelling community in the UK and beyond.
I have written four books on traditional folk tales, and I also write features and articles on wildlife, storytelling and the land.
I was born in Buckinghamshire and originally trained as an ecologist. I’ve worked in the nature conservation sector for the last 25 years across the UK, in roles including farm advisor, river surveyor, political lobbyist and conservation director. I live in Devon.
