The World Tree – Totnes story walk

August 17, 2022 @ 3:30 pm 5:00 pm

In a world of magic and miracles, Yggdrasil the ash tree holds all of creation in its roots and branches. Odin the Allfather hangs upside down from the great tree, waiting for wisdom to come. But what happens when the ash tree falls sick? Here are ancient stories from the Norse, Irish and British traditions, peppered with natural history and sharp observation. Find out how ash trees have always been at the centre of change – and why, despite ash dieback, the old stories tell us of hope and renewal.

This telling of the World Tree will be told a story walk, meeting at Birdwood House at 2:15pm to begin at 2:30pm. It will be an easy walk with periods of standing. Please wear field friendly footwear!

Approx duration, 90 mins long.

In event of wet weather the performance will be held Upstairs at Birdwood House, 60 mins long.
