Reverend on the River – wildflower story walks
August 5, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 4:30 pm
Free - booking essential
Reverend on the River is a new project in and around Great Torrington in north Devon, led by arts company Wolf and Water and funded by the National Lottery. It celebrates the work of the Reverend Keble Martin, Torrington resident and illustrator / author of the ‘Concise British Flora in Colour’, published in 1965.
I grew up with Keble Martin’s book! and I’m looking forward to sharing stories from my own forthcoming book ‘Botanical Folk Tales’, in honour of Keble Martin’s work.
I’ll be running two story walks on the common in Great Torrington as follows:
10.00am – 12.00noon Longer walk, more difficult terrain
2.00pm – 3.30pm Shorter walk, easier terrain
Both walks will start from Torrington Common main car park. Bring suitable outdoor clothing, boots and refreshments.
Places on the walks are FREE but it is essential to book a place, as numbers are limited. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
