Folk Tales of Dartmoor

When was the last time you heard a really good folk tale or legend… from the place where you live?
Sara Hurley and Lisa Schneidau, two storytellers from Dartmoor, have spent the year immersed in Dartmoor’s folk tales. As part of the ‘Chasing Crockern’ project, they have worked with communities all over the moor to find out what these stories mean to people today. Their mythical journey hasn’t finished yet… they are working towards a brand new storytelling show for Spring 2025.
For this event, Sara and Lisa will share some of the old tales of the moor, laced with witches, mists, bogs, shapeshifting hares and, of course, Dewer – the Devil himself.
