The Tangle of the Commons – Lee
September 23, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Wild plants surround us and shape every aspect of our lives: the food on our plates, the clothes on our backs, and the places we live. But the old stories tell us that the spirits of nature and of place are not all that they seem. What happens when they are pushed too far – and will humans be the worse for it? Whose land is it anyway?
Lisa Schneidau tells wild stories from the British and Irish traditions that will surprise, shock and inspire you. Meet leafy demons, bad-tempered boggarts, travelling trees and the wrath of the Little People. Devon’s green and pleasant land will never seem the same again.
This is the family version of the show, suitable for ages 7+. We will be out in Yomer Wood in Lee, storytelling around the fire followed by family friendly woodland crafts. Because of the nature of the terrain, it may not be suitable to all – please enquire if you have access concerns.
Drinks and campfire supper provided. Please bring camping chair or rug and a camping mug! Wear suitable clothes including stout boots. An undercover option is available in case of bad weather.
£10 adults, £7 children, £30.00 family of 4.
